Dear friend!

I hope you don’t bother that I call you a friend. If you are on this website, you’re likely to love music just as much as I do, so you’re more like a friend to me than some random person.

Let me tell you a few things about Frequture and me which I want you to know. They will help you understand what we are doing and why. And you are going to see why this project is so important to me. But first things first.

I can’t remember a time in my life without music, without being a musician. The very first moment which I remember is me standing on a chair in front of a turntable, listening to 80ies electronic music (I was 3 or 4 years old, I think…). It must have been annoying to my family to listen to the same tracks over and over again 😀
Guess what, this kid was thrown into some completely new sonic world. A place just for one person, invisible for others, with unknown feelings and incredible images! Maybe that’s the reason why “musician” resembles the word “magician”.
As a child, I tried to pull my family and my friends into this world. It was so sad to realize that they did not love the same music. Songs had a different meaning to them. They did not react to the sounds (as I did) but to the lyrics or they remembered a moment in their life when they heard this song. Or for some of them, music was just a tool for to show how cool they are. I never understood that.

And then, there was this tiny little keyboard which let me reproduce at least similar noises to the ones on this LP. My parents told me about synthesizers (sure, they didn’t know what they started…). It was back then when I decided to be a musician myself, or let’s say a creater of worlds, wonderful places of instant happyness!
During my childhood, I spent every free time making music, reading about instruments and other musicians and listening (rather studying) music. If you are a musician yourself, you surely know this feeling when you understand step by step the magic tricks of your music heroes 😉

Spending so much time in front of the computer, studying computer science was a logical consequence. I never lost my connection to music, even in these stressful years. But I needed a bit of self identification to realize that happiness will only come to me if I focus on what my heart says.

What I felt as a child, what music really meant to me was the fantastic joy of discovering new songs with unknown rhythms and sounds which seem to come from a different universe. I want to hear music which I have never heard before. To get this, we need to shift the borders of what is possible and we have to re-invent music. That’s why my goal is to give everybody the right tools to create and enjoy new sonic entertainment: The music of the 21st century.

I really hope that you feel the same way about this and I look forward to your early response!

Kind regards,
Philipp
